Why would Joseph Smith need to be married to two sister form the same family and have to be sealed to a mother and her daughter sealed to him as a wife also? examples....Emily age19 and Eliza age 22 were sisters and the daughters of Nauvoo Bishop, Edward Partridge. Both were sealed to Joseph Smith. Sarah 17 age and Maria 19 age Lawrence (sisters) both sealed to Joseph Smith. Mother daughter sealing to Smith... Sylvia Porter Sessions married Joseph Smith on Feb. 8, 1842. She was the daughter of David Sessions and Patty Bartlett Sessions, who became Joseph Smith's tenth wife. Patty Bartlett Sessions married Joseph Smith on Mar. 9, 1842. At the time of her marriage to Smith, she was already married to David Sessions, and their daughter Sylvia Porter Sessions was already the eighth wife of Joseph Smith. http://www.wivesofjosephsmith.org/ Joseph Smith married Sylvia Porter Sessions/Lyon/Smith/Kimball/Clark. (this is showing her maiden name and all the husbands she had. Marriage to Joseph Smith:about 1843 (when already married to Windsor Lyon) Other Marriages:Windsor Palmer Lyon, 1838, Far West, Missouri Heber Chase Kimball, January 1846, Nauvoo, Illinois Ezekiel Clark, January 1, 1850, Iowa City, Iowa This is just a few of his 34 wives all while alive. So how does this work out for (as some LDS claim) "sealing families together" if Smith married TWO ladies from the same family? Please explain the need for that? Thank you... Sir Network, you did not mention "WHY" the need to have more than one female member of a family be sealed to smith if it was just to "seal the families together." I do know that some of the wives went back to live with their other husband, after their sealing to smith. So he was not supporting them. *Also 13 faithful LDS women who were married to Joseph Smith swore court affidavits that they had sexual relations with him. Thank you Victory:) Casey Jones is a new account... He did not answer the question at hand at all. Most do not. This question should make LDS members see that the whole reason "sealing families together" does not FLY is this situation. When Smith was married to more than one lady in the same family! Why the need? Another question is.. Why were quite a few of Smith's wives sealed to Brigham Young and many others after his death? WHICH man was the one that sealed their "families together?" Wouldn't they all make it to the LDS "Celestial Kingdom" anyways?? Who needed 34 (hundreds more after his death) sealed to him forever. To procreate and all.. Its just silly to think of as a real belief... Phrog, What's you answer to the question I am asking?? Why the need to seal the families of the prophet and the family together...huh? IF Smith was marring two women in the same family?? Linda, I am not speculating, I have reasearch this information on PRO and CON sites. LDS site, familysearch.org even notes the information that I have given. Look it up. Linda, you said "as if EVERYONE always speaks the truth?" Perhaps you should research Joseph Smith "claims" and stop pointing the finger so much. ;) Kerry, You stated, "None of the sealing's performed to Joseph Smith where sexual," Google that phrase and get back to me. ( I just did) The evidence cannot be ignored, we'll maybe by some. ALSO If Smith did it, he sinned, but wait he was married to them......;) Let me guess B.Young fathered 57 children, but he was justified with marriage. Why not rule out Smith?
